I was born and raised in California and it was there that I attended Delta Community College and went for my secretarial certificate. I had my first job as an Administrative Assistant to a department manager at American Savings and Loan Company. Due to cost reduction layoffs, I moved to Reno and married the love of my life, Stephen.

We have 4 children; 3 girls and one son that have all grown up and moved away.  We currently have 4 grandchildren with one more due in July of 2010.
Ever since I can remember, I have loved being involved with children and their learning process. I went to work for Washoe County School District in 1995 as a teacher’s aide. After one year, we moved our family to Elko. In September of 1997, I was hired to work in the cafeteria at Elko Junior High for 5 years. I received an injury and was put into the position of a teacher’s aide once again. For two years I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Special Needs students and then placed into my own classroom to do Study Hall for seven additional years.  I found a real passion for helping students with their homework, school projects and getting organized.
This past summer, I was given what I consider to be an opportunity of a lifetime to get back into the Administrative Assistant role. I became very excited and nervous at the same time and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute I have spent with E.I.A.A. getting to know the students, the parents and the wonderful staff.

Together… my husband and I love to fish, hunt, camp, garden, and ride our dirt bikes in the hills of Elko. When alone my favorite pastimes are reading, sewing, walking, and being with my family.

I was born here in Elko, NV and lived most of my life just fifty miles away in Wells.  When I graduated from High School, I attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where I received my degree in Secondary Education Social Studies.  I have since then added an endorsement to teach English at the secondary level.  I am in my second year of teaching and I love it. Education is and always has been my passion.  There was never a time in my life that I did not want to teach.  I believe that every student has the right to the best education possible.  I am just settling down in life with a new house and family on the way.  I love being in the outdoors, reading, and golfing.  One day I would like to finish traveling the United States to see all of the history and then work my way into traveling other countries.
I have been teaching since 2001.  I graduated from SUU in Cedar City, UT with my Bachelor of Science.  I also graduated from Great Basin with an Associate of Ar4ts.  I taught 6th grade for 5 years and 1 ½ years as a middle school math teacher.  I returned to Elko at the end of 2007 and have been substituting locally.

My goal is to get students excited to learn and be excited, myself, to teach.

My family and I came to Elko in 2006.  We feel like we have moved to the “big city” since we came from the little bitty Nevada town of Hawthorne where I was born.  I have also lived in Utah, Colorado, Idaho and California.  I prefer Nevada and get misty-eyed when I sing “Home Means Nevada”.

Mr. Schuler and I are both children of military families.  We met and fell in love while attending Mineral County High School and got married after he finished college in 1991.  Together we have created two intelligent and beautiful young daughters who keep us hopping.

The medical field took up the first 13 years of my career.  I did medical billing and coding for the Central Nevada Rural Health Consortium and mental health billing and administration for the State of Nevada as well as the Mineral County Public Health Nurse and Family Planning.  In Colorado, dentistry and immunology work took me traveling to Mexico and Canada for months at a time.  After our first child was born I ran an in-home daycare for the next 6 years.   In between all that I have also been:  a janitor, convenience store assistant manager, administrative assistant for a mining contractor, pizza parlor manager, postal worker, wife and mommy.

I was already volunteering at EIAA when the recess/lunchroom aide position was announced.  This is a perfect fit for me and our family.  I still volunteer at school every day and am Vice President of the EIAA PTSO.

Kelly is a New England native who comes to us from a small town in southern New Hampshire.  After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education and a minor in dance from Plymouth University, Kelly spent three incredible years living in Heidelberg, Germany with her husband Donny, who at the time was a Captain in the United States Air Force.  In addition to exploring the cultures of many fascinating countries in Europe, Kelly taught dance to children ages 5 through 15, worked with middle school children as an AVID tutor, and enrolled in an elementary Master of Arts teaching program.  In the spring of 2007, Kelly received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and moved to a quaint town in Vermont.  For two amazing years, Kelly taught third grade at The Bishop Marshall School and became certified in the Responsive Classroom Approach.
Kelly and her husband currently reside in Spring Creek.  She enjoys working out, dancing, hiking, snowboarding, and traveling to new and exciting places.

I was born in American Fork, Utah and into a family that loved to travel. This created for me a deep love of learning and independence at an early age. When I was in high school I moved to Elko, Nevada. I played in the Elko High School Band, Pep band and ran cross country. After graduation I moved to California, went to Heald College and achieved an AAS Degree in Accounting. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. I finished my internship in First Grade at Northside Elementary. During my internship, teaching became a full fledge passion, I was hooked, and knew that teaching would be a life career.

I am very excited for the opportunity to teach at EIAA. I love to promote learning in connection with real world application. My overall view is that the classroom needs to be a nurturing environment for students where they feel comfortable in a classroom community and challenged as individuals to reach their fullest potential. As a teacher it is my responsibility to create this environment and direction for each student where they have equal opportunity to thrive and grow.

I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and two sons. When I have spare time I enjoy getting out into the great outdoors, quilting and eating my favorite food, sushi

I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  When I was four years- old, my family relocated to Nevada and ended up in the little town of Round Mountain.  We lived there until my senior year of high school when we moved to Elko.  I graduated from Elko High School and earned my Associate of Arts degree from GBC when it was still Northern Nevada Community College.    I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the Great Basin College Teacher’s education program.

I currently live in Spring Creek with my three children, ages 6, 11 and 15.  I am a very devoted mother and take pride in all my children do for they are a constant joy to me.  My hobbies include  reading, exercising, listening to music and playing with my dogs.

I am looking forward to a fun filled, educational year.
